The other way I have of wording this question is the following: How does the effects of alcohol intoxication on a person and their ability to drive differ from that of marijuana?
Is there any kind of resemblance?
You want to know what I think? Don’t say anything unless it actually answers the question. Stop wasting my time and your time.

What do you think, genius?
They both diminish your ability when operating a motor vehicle.
very low attention and very slow reflexes. Plus, you don’t care about a crash.
everyone thinks its not dangerous to drive stoned-I think its easier than when youve been drinking, but your reactions slow down a lot
Drinking on the other hand is bad news while driving- Not only is it hard to control your car, a lot of times you dont even realize how poorly youre driving. It slows your reaction time, messes with your vision, and makes you sleepy. Whether smoking or drinking-its best to do it at home
im pretty sure they both affect ur motor skills (the bodys) which (ironicly) affects ur motor skills (driving the car) haha
wel yea they jus make ur ability to function alot worse, reaction times ect..
Sure.
Reaction time goes down, inhibitions go down, concentration goes down.
Don’t listen to comment#2, it’s bullsht.
Alcohol: you feel dizzy, sleepy, too comfortable in the safety of your car, not too responsive either
Pot: you are way too reactive but can drive safer than under the effects of alcohol. also, being stoned will make you feel like you’re driving way faster than you acctually do.
I don’t recommend either. bbye
Alcohol is much much more dangerous!
Someone accustomed to smoking a lot of marijuana can usually drive just fine, but I wouldn’t suggest it as the safest thing to do! Especially on highways since potheads tend to be on the slower side.
Also, legally, you are a million times more likely to get busted for a DUI.
DRIVE SAFELY!
Wow, a bunch of uninformed people chirping on this one. Amazing what people will ingest without even checking up on it first.
Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant: It lowers heart rate, blood pressure and inhibitions, and can, in high doses, shut down major organ systems. It, like a lot of other drugs, is a toxin, which means you can overdose on it (and thus the name intoxilyzer for breath tests). One other thing alcohol does in small amounts is reduce fine motor control, which is why feild sobriety tests are effective. Small motor control is used a lot in speaking, which is why drunk people slur their words, fumble/drop things, etc. Fine muscles also control your eyes, so when you are drunk you develop a nystagmus, which basically means your eyes twitch instead of moving smoothly, because the muscles lose fine motor control.
Marijuana shows characteristics of both central nervous system depressants and stimulants. Blood pressure and pulse can go up like a stimulant, but people will often become relaxed, sometimes to the point of nodding off, like a depressant. Marijuana in high doses also produces nystagmus and some loss of fine motor control, as well as reduced reaction time, similar to alcohol. It was initially thought that you could not overdose on marijuana. However, since marijuana cultivation is producing much more potent plants, that line of thought is being reconsidered. (1960′s pot had about 3% THC, where as today’s plants have 21% or more).
Both alcohol and marijuana, like most drugs, effect the brain’s ability to receive and comprehend information, which can, over the long term, permanantly effect the brain’s ability to process information.
The short term disabling effects of marijuana are generally considered to wear off quicker than alcohol, though residual traces of marijuana remain in your system much longer than alcohol.
Marijuana, very little… 0 deaths/year
Alcohol, very much…. 75000 deaths/year
alcohol:if ur drunk u cannot drive for crap
MJ:if u are high u drive better…you are too high and nervous that u pay too much attention to the road and u mind focuses on driving and nothin else…
